Overcoming a Spirit of Infirmity
During a recent time of worship, I felt I heard the Lord speaking about a spirit of infirmity. I sensed that many were struggling, often silently, with unexplained sickness and infirmities. I pressed in to listen for His voice and this is what I felt I heard Him say:
"My child, I am bringing about deliverance and causing you to be free from the spirit of infirmity that has tormented you. I have already purchased your freedom and now is the time for you to take hold of My redeeming power.
This spirit of infirmity is a sly thief, robbing you of strength and confidence to fully step into those things I have planned for you. You have known frustration, weakness, confusion, delay, and condemnation as time and again this thief has stolen opportunities that were part of your inheritance. But I am giving you fresh faith and Holy Spirit-energized strategy to rise up and dismantle the schemes that have sought to silence and snuff you out. You will find your voice again and you will take your place alongside your brothers and sisters in Christ. Do not worry or fret about the lost moments and lost opportunities in the past, as I am able to make up the time in My supernatural kingdom economy.
I am leading you to close any open doors of bitterness, unforgiveness, trauma, and generational iniquity that have sometimes given this spirit access. I am calling you to repent and renounce all ownership and agreement with this spirit of infirmity. Refuse to let the infirmity place a label on you. Now begin to confess and declare your true identity and healing in Christ. That which has sought to weaken you is NOT your identity!
Be diligent to declare My living and active words over yourself. Like weeds in a garden, the thoughts that do not line up with My truth must be plucked out and thrown away. Replace them with My truth even if they do not feel true at the moment. Continue to speak My truth over your body, believing for it to come into alignment with all that I have purchased for you.
I am breaking the cycles of torment that have afflicted you and severing the ties that have kept you bound. You will know true freedom and peace, and you will know what it is to dream again. You will no longer be a bystander but a FULL PARTICIPANT in My kingdom endeavors.
It is time to pursue, overtake, and recover all that has been stolen. Lean into My grace and know that your healing has already been purchased. Take My hand and I will lead you out of the murky waters that have sought to engulf you. Give Me your disappointments and receive My empowering grace to lay hold of HOPE again.
Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." And He laid His hands on her and immediately she was made straight and glorified God. — Luke 13:10–13
