Running with the Faith Team

God is not a man that He should lie! Caleb looked at the land and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land for we can certainly do it." We are in a moment where we get to choose which team we want to run with. We can be on the "Oh no, I see the giants, and they are scary, team, the I don't want to rock the boat or risk anything, team." Or, we can choose the "My faith is in the VICTORIOUS Lion of Judah team, the Lord has spoken and I believe Him, team." I want to run with the FAITH team!

What are you hearing Him speak? Many are arriving at their choices based on human logic and reasoning. God definitely gives us both of those things, but there is a difference in arriving at a logical conclusion based on my own thinking, and arriving at a conclusion because God spoke or revealed something to me.

Many believers are being tested in this season. The Son of God experienced testing, too, and He overcame the enemy by living by every word that proceeded from His Father's mouth. He didn't fall for the attractive shortcuts to glory that the enemy was offering Him. He stayed the course and chose to believe in the goodness of His Father.

Many may scoff at those who choose to walk by faith in this hour. You will be called childish, foolish, irrational, and immature by those who have chosen a different, more reasonable path. But, do not despair for you are in good company! Hebrews 11 gives us a glimpse into the Father's heart and opinion of faith that pleases Him. We also find that faith doesn't necessarily mean a happy ending, at least here on this earth.

"Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment. They were put to death by stoning; they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated--the world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground. These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect." Hebrews 11:36-40

I like to think that God is still adding names to the Hebrews 11 list, known as the Hall of Faith. Scripture tells us that we are surrounded by the great cloud of witnesses and I believe the Hebrews 11 crew is part of that. They are cheering us on even now as we run this race and fix our eyes on Jesus, the one who perfects our faith.
