August- A Month of Glory
My husband and I recently stood on the bay of the harbor in Boston and watched the many boats come and go. One small boat slowly passed by, very near where we stood, with the intriguing name "AUGUST GLORY" emblazoned on it's side. Something stirred in my spirit and I felt God was speaking through this prophetic sign.
The name "August" in the dictionary means "marked by majestic dignity or grandeur". I believe the Lord wants to mark this month in a significant way with His majesty and grandeur.
The King is arriving on the scene, and we will never be the same!
"Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he, this King of glory? The LORD Almighty--He is the King of glory." (Ps. 24:7-10)
Just the fact that God is known as The King of Glory reveals that when He enters the scene, glory comes with Him. In fact, His glory is a representation of who He is. All of His nature is encapsulated in His glory. That's why when Moses asked God to show him His glory, God responded by hiding Moses in the cleft of a rock and covering him with His hand. Moses could not have handled seeing all of God's glory, so God protected him. As He passed by God removed His hand so Moses could see His back. God allowed His goodness to pass in front of Moses because God's goodness is His glory.
When God's glory is revealed, there will be a greater manifestation and revelation of His goodness. This is one reason the enemy has worked so hard to malign the character of God. God is not just sometimes good, or somewhat good, but He is altogether good. This is a game changer and something the enemy doesn't want people to know or understand.
But, Habakkuk 2:14 tells us, "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD as the waters cover the sea." We have this promise that the earth will indeed be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD.
As the King of Glory arrives on the scene He is coming as the just and mighty King. He is coming to make wrongs right and set things in order. As the Just Judge, He will pound His powerful gavel over situations that have cried out for justice. He will make righteous rulings and release the captives who have been enslaved by the schemes of darkness.
The King of Glory will melt hardened hearts just by walking into the room. The manifestation of His goodness will soften the hardest of hearts. Blinders and mind restraints will fall off of those who were not previously able to see because of attachments and agreements with iniquity patterns. Like the healing of the demon-possessed men of the Gadarenes in Matt. 8, freedom will spread everywhere His glory goes.
Just as the small boat I saw moved and rose on the waves beneath it, the waves of God's glory will literally carry us into this next season. Transition is in the air as God prepares and positions His people to encounter Him in all His glory.
As God envelopes us in this season, we will be like John who said, "...and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."(Jn. 1:14)
